Adolescent Counseling

Teens

Teenagers face a lot of different challenges that may impact their mental health. As a teenager, it is easy to feel misunderstood or judged. It can be difficult to navigate school, friendships, relationships, family, and extra-curricular activities as well as their mental health. This can also be a challenging phase for parents. At Fireside Counseling, we strive to work with teens and parents to help make things feel more manageable. Counseling for adolescents can help them obtain their desire to be more independent, while also making safe and healthy choices. Counseling with a trusted adult can help your teen overcome emotional struggles, while also giving the parents or guardians peace of mind. Approaches may include traditional talk therapy, group therapy, and activity therapy. Activity therapy allows the teen to explore their thoughts and feelings through an activity, which can decrease the fear of talking about the concern directly. With the safety of the activities, they are free to explore and ultimately resolve their issue.
